Experience a Mexico Rocks Snorkeling Tour from San Pedro

Your half-day snorkeling adventure includes three snorkeling stops, each offering something different to explore.

You’ll visit Mexico Rocks, snorkel at a reef area where sharks and stingrays are commonly seen, and explore Tres Cocos Reef, known for its elkhorn coral and colorful tropical fish.

Your guide will provide a short briefing before each snorkeling experience and will be in the water with the group to help point out coral, fish, and other marine life.

Snorkel Mexico Rocks Near San Pedro

Mexico Rocks is a patch reef north of San Pedro known for its large coral formations, tropical fish, and clear waters.
It’s a great place to explore the reef at a relaxed pace and see the marine life found around Ambergris Caye.

Swim Near Sharks & Stingrays

One of the stops gives you the opportunity to snorkel in an area where nurse sharks and stingrays are commonly seen.

Because these are wild animals, sightings and behavior can vary.

Tres Cocos Reef

Tres Cocos is a reef near San Pedro known for its elkhorn coral and colorful tropical fish.

This stop gives you another opportunity to explore the Belize Barrier Reef and see a different reef environment during the same half-day tour.

See Coral & Tropical Marine Life

Across the three snorkeling stops, you may see:

  • Large coral formations
  • Elkhorn coral
  • Tropical reef fish
  • Nurse sharks
  • Stingrays
  • Sea turtles
  • Other Caribbean marine life

Because this is a natural reef environment, wildlife sightings can vary from day to day.

First Time Snorkeling? No Problem.

You do not need previous snorkeling experience to enjoy the tour.

If it is your first time, the crew can help you:

  • Fit your snorkeling gear
  • Get comfortable in the water
  • Learn basic snorkeling techniques
  • Use a life jacket if needed

All the reviews saying these guys are great are spot on! We were a group of 4 and each are still talking about what a great time we had with Joel and Jr. We caught a wide variety of fish and had enough for three meals. 100% recommend!

Joel and JR are true fishermen. We booked a full day of fishing and that’s exactly what we received. They picked us up on a dock just down from our hotel. We were trolling almost immediately. We then moved to bottom fishing in 300’ where we caught plenty of red snappper. Next they took us closer to the reef where we spearfished / snorkeled for lobster and fish. We bagged lobster to add to our catch. By then it was lunch time and we hit a beach where Joel & JR prepared our caught fish and lobster. The lunch was delicious! To finish off the day we trolled in the deep water and caught black fin tuna, spanish mackerel, and bonito. Let’s say we were exhausted and slept so good that night. Do not hesitate to book your fishing excursion with Joel. It was a trip of a lifetime.

My friend Faith and I booked with Captain Joel and Junior during our trip to San Pedro. We had a fantastic experience. They catered to our fishing preferences and were supper easy to communicate with. We did the full day fishing and couldn’t commend it more! After our day of fishing they cleaned our fish and gave us restaurant recommendations. We had a full meal of our catch at The Gypsy Restaurant on the water. We would love to do it again!

We had an amazing day with Joel and Junior! They tailored the day to exactly what we wanted to do. We fished, snorkeled, swam with sharks, and then they cooked the fish and lobsters that we caught on a beautiful beach! It was absolutely delicious. Such a wonderful day of memories for my family ❤️ thank you Joel and Junior!!

Spent two fantastic days with Joel and Junior. We caught lots of fish (barracuda, snapper and jacks), plus some lobsters on the second day. Great local vibe, great snorkeling locations (sharks, rays, reefs, everything), and a really fun beach BBQ with the fish and lobster we caught. 100% recommend for a genuine experience with a down to earth, local guide with a deep knowledge of the reef and a humble willingness to share it.

Captain Joel and her son took us fishing, snorkeling and took us to a beautiful beach where they cooked the fish and lobsters we caught. He knows the good fishing spots and is very knowledgeable, since he's been fishing all of his life. He and his son were punctual to pick us up at the hotel, brought us drinks for the ride and were always courteous and attentive. Highly recommended!
