Belize Candace Fish & Reef Tours is a locally owned and family-operated tour company based in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye.
For us, the sea is more than where we work — it’s where we grew up.
From a young age, Captain Joel learned to fish, navigate the reef, and understand the waters around San Pedro by watching and learning from generations of local fishermen. Today, that knowledge is shared with visitors from around the world through private fishing, snorkeling, reef, and beach adventures.
Our goal is simple: give every guest a safe, personal, and memorable day on the water while sharing the Belize we know and love.
Captain Joel is the owner and lead captain of Belize Candace Fish & Reef Tours.
Born and raised on the island, he spent much of his life learning the waters around San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, and the Belize Barrier Reef.
His experience comes from years of hands-on fishing, reef exploration, and learning from the older fishermen he grew up around.
Whether guests are fishing for the first time, snorkeling the reef, hunting lobster and conch when in season, or simply spending a day exploring the Caribbean, Captain Joel brings patience, local knowledge, and a relaxed approach to every trip.
He takes pride in helping guests feel comfortable while making sure they get the most out of their time on the water.
Joel Jr. grew up around the same waters and is continuing the family tradition.
As a deckhand, he helps prepare the boat, assist guests with fishing and snorkeling, and make sure everything runs smoothly throughout the day.
